How we handle your data.
Short version: we only collect what you send us, we use it to reply, and we never sell it.
Who we are
WebDevHire is an independent web studio based in London, United Kingdom. We are responsible for the personal data described on this page. You can reach us at contact@webdevhire.com.
What we collect
We only collect the details you choose to send through our contact form: your name, email address, and message, plus your company or website, project type, budget, and timeline if you provide them.
To protect the form from spam and abuse, we briefly keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address and email address. It can't be turned back into the original, and it's deleted automatically within 24 hours.
We do not use analytics, advertising trackers, or cookies.
Why we use it
We use your details only to reply to your enquiry and, if we work together, to plan and deliver your project. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
Who else is involved
- Cloudflare hosts this website, processes contact form submissions, and, like any web host, handles technical data such as your IP address to serve pages securely.
- Google (Gmail) stores the emails we receive, including your contact form messages.
- GitHub hosts the images shown on client project tracking pages.
We never sell your data or share it for marketing.
Project tracking pages
If we're working together, we may share a private link where you can follow your project's progress. These pages are hidden from search engines and only reachable through that link, so please don't share it with anyone who shouldn't see your project updates.
Stored on your device
This site saves two things in your own browser's storage: your light or dark theme choice, and a draft of an unsent contact message so you don't lose it. Neither is sent to us, and the draft is deleted once your message is sent. You can clear both at any time in your browser settings.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries only as long as we need them to respond and, if we work together, to manage the project and meet our legal obligations.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing contact@webdevhire.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
